Events Around Town

Allen Neighborhood Market - The indoor market is held every Wednesday at the Allen Market Place on Kalamazoo Street from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Each week I will place more events and information regarding the Allen Neighborhood Center.

Coffee with Andy Schor - House Representative Andy Schor will be holding his "Coffee" on Monday, January 13 @ 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This will be held at the Foster Community Center, 200 N. Foster.  This is a great opportunity to meet Mr. Schor and his staff.  It is also an opportunity for you to hear what is happening at the capitol and to ask questions.

Riverwalk Theater - "Twelve Angry Men" is being performed at the Riverwalk Theater on January 9-12 and 16-19.  Tickets are $14 ($12 senior/student/military), and Bargain Thursdays are $10 ($8 for seniors/students/military).  Show times are 7 p.m., Thursdays, 8:00 p.m. Fridays, and Saturdays, 2:00 p.m. Sundays.  You can make reservations by calling 482-5700 or at their web site:  riverwalktheater.com.  The theater is located at 228 Museum Drive, south off Michigan Avenue, across from the Lansing Center.

This is a great opportunity to support the local arts in Lansing.  I know I will be attending.

Bea Christy Award Dinner - This year will be the 27th annual Bea Christy Award Dinner.  It will be held on February 21.  Tickets are $19.00.  Nominations for the award must be in by February 5th.  If you have any questions or would like to purchase tickets or donate raffle items, please contact Jennifer at the Lansing Neighborhood Council, 393-9883.  Will have more information regarding this event later.

That's all the event announcements for now. As always, I want to ensure that the constituents in the First Ward are informed and, hopefully, engaged.  I promised during my campaign that I would be transparent, ethical, and hard working.  I am doing my best to live up to those promises.
